It’s an unprecedented and honestly scary time to be alive. COVID-19 has changed how the whole world operates. We’re #AloneTogether and staying at home. Typically, an introvert would be thriving in this kind of environment – I know I am relishing the fact that I’m being told to basically have no outside plans. But, that doesn’t mean I’m not scared, confused, and anxious. In fact, I’m really anxious. ALL. THE. TIME. God bless therapy.
So, as we all come together to stay at home, here are some resources to keep you up-to-date and informed.
Follow them on Instagram, Twitter, Google Alerts, etc. Here is where you can find out information on symptoms, guidelines, and more. It’s your official source.
2. Global Citizen’s #TogetherAtHome Initiative
Global Citizen has compiled quizzes and other resources to keep you informed. Plus, they are asking celebrities like Niall Horan, One Republic, Dove Cameron, Charlie Puth, and John Legend to host Instagram Live concerts from your living room. It’s the perfect way to spend 30 minutes of your day.
3. Shine
The only self-care app I consistently engage with. You can follow them on Instagram for daily, uplifting content, but why not get is sent straight to your phone every morning before you start that Work From Home commute. They offer resources for anxiety, positivity, boundaries, and more. I’ve been a loyal subscriber for years, but have found myself searching for their content more often than not lately, especially their section on coronavirus anxiety.
I’m back with another Instagram account to follow. But this one is providing quarantine tips, survival responses, and education on trauma. It’s positive, but it also let’s you know that what you are feeling is completely valid.
5. Lisa Olivera
Yes, here’s another therapy account, but in this climate we all need more than one pick-me-up. Follow along for relatable content that makes you feel a little less alone and that makes you feel okay when you aren’t being as productive as you should be. Spoiler: there’s no productivity level requirements here.
It’s a weird time for us all. Embrace what you have and do what you can to stay socially distant to protect the ones who can’t, and tell us what COVID-19 resources you find most valuable in the comments below.
